Overview

The building has a footprint of 1,400m² with four large commercial tenancies, including a restaurant at the front of the site.

It is mainly constructed of precast panels and floors with steel roofing and feature cladding.

The challenge was to create a modern single-storey, large format retail centre what was much in demand within the surrounding area.

Solution

The constructed form is a simple modern form with a mono-pitch roof following the contour of the site, respecting the surrounding, at the same time, providing highly presentable road frontage.

To arrive with the resulting fire design, we thoughtfully discussed early on relating fire engineering principle, with various stakeholders, client, real estate agent, other consultants and developers.

In Detail

The issue of post-fire stability, means of egress provision and external fire spread matters have been carefully considered early on at the concept stage. Due to our combined fire engineering expertise, co-ordination of fire design principle could have been adopted into the resulting building design in full scale to meet the regulation with efficiency.

THE DESIGNFIRE also provided full passive fire design specification and emergency lighting design.
