For the existing 3 level house built in early 2000,with parapet roof, membrane decks and direct fix plaster cladding, CCG was engaged to provide re-cladding design solution for the house. As the house was classified as ‘very high risk’ under Building Code, the challenge was to design with reduced weathertightness risk while also improving the look of the building. The planning control for the building height is at its maximum as is, so roof pitch could not be increased, it was proposed to introduce a fully torched membrane roof with overhangs, strategic introduction of sun rooms at most vulnerable places.
